#IamDAP: Maxine Hirth
Maxine joined the DAP in 2021 as apprentice office administrator and stayed with us after her training. She is now an integral part of the Shared Services group and also supports the marketing team in social media matters.
Hey Maxi, a question for an ex-apprentice: Why did you decide to join the chair for your apprenticeship back then?
Well, RWTH Aachen is one of the biggest employers in my hometown, so that was definitely appealing. But what really convinced me was the young, dynamic team at DAP. I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it.
Your apprenticeship at DAP is behind you now. How did you experience that time, and what were your highlights?
Honestly, I grew a lot personally during that time. I was given plenty of opportunities to prove myself and always had strong support, especially from my trainer. Being involved in ongoing projects and being able to contribute my own ideas made me feel like a real part of the team. The highlight for me was definitely my internship abroad in Dublin – I got to spend a month there thanks to the chair and RWTH Aachen.
Now you’re responsible for the back office at DAP. Can you give us a quick overview of what you do?
My main tasks are assisting the management and handling general organization. As the go-to person, I take care of scheduling, organizing business trips, and planning events.
You’ve recently started supporting our marketing team and have become the Reel Queen for our younger audience. Would you call yourself a “Printfluencer” now?
Working in marketing definitely brings a new vibe to the office, especially when collaborating with the scientists in the labs and on the machines. I get to see a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff at DAP, which is really cool. I don’t know if I’m already a Printfluencer, but some of my own 3D prints have already found a place in our office. Close enough?
Who would you say is our secret TikTok star?
Hmm, good question! I think we should just check out our TikTok account and see who’s climbing the social media ladder…
You like to travel from Aachen to other (big) cities, not just for internships abroad. What’s been your travel highlight so far?
Definitely my trip to New York last year. It was my first time in America and definitely not my last! The absolute highlight was a helicopter flight over the city, where I got to see the skyline from above.
