ProCloud 3D Final Report at the Event “IT Security in Manufacturing: Benefit or Necessity for SMEs?”

Streaming is a popular topic nowadays. Although it is often associated with Video on Demand services like Netflix, it also has potential in other areas.

The #ProCloud3D project has successfully leveraged this potential for AM!

In the era of digital supply chains, the protection of design data for 3D-printed parts becomes crucial.

Recognising the significance of securing the entire additive manufacturing chain, from design to production, the Procloud3D project aimed to create a cloud-based platform for distributed manufacturing.

This platform enables secure transmission of production data to 3D printers using a through a layer-by-layer streaming approach.

The layer data is compatible with various 3D printers due to the usage of the OpenVectorFormat. Additionally, it is supported by an overarching security infrastructure, which creates a protected value chain.

The result can be seen in the picture to the right: a 3D printed part, fully streamed from the platform to a PBF printer!

As ProCloud3D comes to an end soon, we’re excited to announce that our results will in depth be showcased at the event: „IT-Security im Manufacturing: Nutzen oder Not im Mittelstand?“ in Karlsruhe.
